Administration & tuning
Query optimisation, indexing, health checks, patching and capacity forecasting, so performance problems are found before users report them.
DBA as a Service
Senior DBAs keeping your data fast, secure and always available — and moving it to the cloud when you are ready. Across every major engine, as a managed service rather than a permanent hire.
What's included
Most clients come to us with one of these — usually performance or a migration — and keep the rest as ongoing cover.
Query optimisation, indexing, health checks, patching and capacity forecasting, so performance problems are found before users report them.
Lift-and-shift or re-platform to RDS, Atlas and managed cloud, with assessment, planning, near-zero-downtime cutover and post-migration tuning.
Replication, clustering, automated backups and disaster recovery — with recovery drills actually run, not just documented.
Role-based access control, encryption at rest and in transit, audit logging and reporting that stands up to an auditor.
Why this works
Experienced DBAs on the engines you run, available when you need them instead of sitting idle between incidents.
Backups that have been restored, failovers that have been rehearsed, and a recovery time you can quote to your board with a straight face.
Oracle and SQL Server estates that have grown over a decade are normal work for us, not an exception.
Phased, reversible plans with a rehearsed cutover window, so the move happens on a date you chose.
How it runs
A review of configuration, performance, backups and access, with findings ranked by risk.
The urgent items first: failing backups, missing indexes, dangerous permissions, queries that are about to fall over.
Query and index optimisation against real workload, plus a forecast of where the current setup runs out of headroom.
Assessment, target design, rehearsal, then a near-zero-downtime cutover with a rollback path.
Monitoring, patching, backup verification, recovery drills and a regular review of performance and cost.

Questions
Yes. A common arrangement is cover for out-of-hours, holidays and migrations, with your DBA keeping day-to-day ownership. We also provide full cover where there is no DBA at all.
By replicating into the target, rehearsing the cutover on a copy, then switching during an agreed window with a tested rollback. Near-zero downtime is realistic for most workloads; we will tell you if yours is one of the exceptions.
Yes. Backups that have never been restored are not backups. Restores are verified on a schedule and recovery drills are part of the service, with the results written down.
Yes. Role-based access control, encryption and audit logging are set up so the evidence an auditor asks for already exists, rather than being assembled in a panic.
No — licences stay with you, as they must. We will flag where your configuration is costing you licence fees you could avoid, which is often a larger saving than the service fee.

A health check gives you a ranked list of what is actually wrong, with effort against each item. Tell us which engines you run.
