We are looking for a DevOps engineer with three to five years of hands-on experience to join our DevOps and CloudOps practice. You will work across client environments — building pipelines, describing infrastructure as code, and keeping platforms running once they are live.
The work is varied by design: one client may be a greenfield platform on Google Cloud, another an estate that grew by hand over several years and now needs documenting before it can be improved.
What you will do
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that test, build and deploy automatically, with a documented rollback path.
- Describe cloud infrastructure as code so environments can be reviewed in a pull request and recreated consistently.
- Containerise services and run them on managed Kubernetes, with resource limits and autoscaling set against observed load.
- Set up observability — metrics, logs, traces — and alerting thresholds that mean something, with runbooks behind them.
- Take part in the on-call rota and respond to incidents, then write the follow-up honestly.
- Review cloud spend and find the over-provisioning, forgotten environments and unattached storage.
- Work directly with client developers, in their accounts and to their standards.
What we are looking for
- Three to five years in DevOps, SRE or cloud engineering.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) and a willingness to learn the others.
- Infrastructure-as-code experience, and the instinct to reach for it rather than the console.
- Containers and Kubernetes in production, not just in a tutorial.
- Comfortable scripting in Python, Go or Bash.
- Linux fundamentals, networking basics, and a methodical approach to debugging under pressure.
Nice to have
- Multi-cloud or migration experience, particularly to Google Cloud.
- A cloud certification — useful, not required.
- Database operations exposure (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB).
- Experience with cost optimisation or FinOps practices.
