We are looking for a QA engineer who knows games — not only how to test software, but how a game is supposed to feel when it is working. You will test titles heading for Apple Arcade, Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Google Play Games, and you will be the person who decides whether a build is ready for submission.
This is hands-on testing work inside our QA as a Service practice, with senior testers around you and real responsibility from the first month.
What you will do
- Run functional, exploratory and regression passes on game builds across console, PC and mobile.
- Maintain a device and console test matrix, including older hardware where performance problems appear first.
- Check builds against each storefront's technical and submission requirements, and report what would block certification.
- Run long soak and stress sessions to surface stability, memory and performance problems that only appear after extended play.
- Write defect reports that a developer can act on: reproducible steps, build number, device, and captured video.
- Work with the automation testers to decide which repeatable checks are worth automating.
- Feed back on feel and usability — the problems that pass every functional check and still make a game worse.
What we are looking for
- Two or more years testing software, with real game testing experience on at least one console or storefront.
- A methodical approach to reproducing and isolating defects, and the patience to do it properly.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tooling.
- Good written English — your defect reports are read by developers who were not in the room.
- Genuine interest in games, and the ability to keep playing critically after the fun has worn off.
Nice to have
- Experience with a platform submission or certification process.
- Some test automation experience, in any language.
- Performance profiling on mobile or console hardware.
- Experience testing live-service titles or in-app purchase flows.
