We are looking for a senior QA engineer who can walk into a client engagement, work out where the real risk is, and build a test practice around it — rather than inheriting someone else's test plan and executing it.
You will own test strategy for one or more clients, build automation that is still running a year later, and set the standard for the testers working alongside you.
What you will do
- Assess a client's product, release process and existing coverage, and write the test strategy: what is manual, what is automated, what the release criteria are.
- Design and build automation suites wired into the client's CI/CD pipeline, written to be maintained rather than rewritten.
- Decide the automation priority order — the journeys that would hurt most if they broke.
- Run and interpret performance and load testing, and tie findings back to the code or queries responsible.
- Keep flakiness under control, so the team trusts a red build.
- Review defect reports and test cases from other testers, and mentor the people writing them.
- Present quality status to clients honestly, including when a release should not go out.
What we are looking for
- Five or more years in QA, including at least two owning test strategy rather than executing someone else's.
- Strong automation skills in a mainstream framework and language, with a track record of suites that stayed alive.
- Practical CI/CD experience — you have wired tests into a pipeline and dealt with the consequences.
- Working knowledge of API testing and at least one of performance or security testing.
- The confidence to tell a client that a release is not ready, and the evidence to back it up.
Nice to have
- Experience introducing QA into a team that did not have one.
- Security testing or penetration testing exposure.
- Experience with AI-assisted test generation and its failure modes.
- Game, fintech or regulated-domain testing experience.
